RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. RULES: All Managers Should Read and Understand NSA Rules and these Tournament Rules; manager is responsible for making sure his/her team knows and abides by these rules. NSA Rules will be in effect during the entire tournament. 2. The Manager is responsible for checking the MAIN PAIRINGS BOARD AFTER EVERY GAME to see if the schedule has any changes. Any other copies of the schedule including those posted on the website are just a guide and can be revised at any time. 3. CHECK-IN: ALL MANAGERS must check in 60 MINUTES before your first game at the park where you play your first game A manager, coach or responsible parent can check in your team. Players do not have to be there.

representative is required to bring at every tournament: 4. READINESS: Teams Must Be At The Field Ready to Play 30 Minutes Before Scheduled Game Time. 5. LINEUP CARDS: Lineup cards must be properly completed, including players’ & subs’ first and last name(s), uniform number(s) and on-field position(s). Managers must turn in completed lineup card to home plate umpire at the time of the coin flip. 6. HOME TEAM: will be determined by coin flip at home plate at the pre-game meeting. 7. WEATHER ISSUES: In case of inclement weather, Tournament Committee reserves the right to modify the format of the tournament including eliminating losers bracket games in order to complete the tournament within the time frame allotted. Teams must be Ready to Play Within Thirty (30) Minutes of Notification. 8. WEATHER HOTLINE – 815-939-4679. 9. GAME TIME IS START TIME! 10. FIELD CONDUCT: No infield practice allowed. Teams may warm up outside of the outfield fences only. No batting practice allowed in between the fields. No infield / outfield ball after the first inning. Please make sure your team hustles on and off the field. 11. WARM-UP PITCHES: The starting pitcher or a new pitcher will be allowed a maximum of five (5) warm-up pitches, and no more than three (3) in-between innings. Each additional pitch will constitute a “ball” on the batter. 12. NSA MERCY RUN RULE: 12 (runs) after 3 (innings); 10 after 4; 8 after 5. 13. TIME LIMIT: POSTED ON SCHEDULES. Clock starts at the Conclusion of Pre-Game Meeting. 14. TIE-BREAKER: If game is tied at the end of regulation (7 full innings, or time expired), the International Tie-Breaker will be used until a winner is determined. 15. DUGOUT CONDUCT: No Alcoholic Beverages or Smoking Allowed in the Dugout. 16. UNIFORMS: Uniforms are recommended to be similar in color and style and have numbers on the back. No identical numbers. If Batting Helmets have Chin Straps, they are to be used and properly secured. 17. PROTESTS: All protests must be accompanied by a $75 Cash Protest Fee, which must be paid immediately to the home plate umpire before the next pitch. No protests are allowed for any judgment calls. A protest hearing will be held to make a final decision. If upheld, the protest fee will be refunded. 18. APPROVED BATS: Only Bats listed on the NSA APPROVED BATS LIST will be allowed. (Approved Bat List available at www.illinoisnsa.com.) 19. BERTH VALIDATION: NOTE: ALL TEAMS MUST ATTEND THEIR STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TO VALIDATE ANY EARNED SUPER WORLD OR WORLD BERTHS AT ALL NSA QUALIFYING TOURNAMENTS 20. CONCESSIONS: No Outside Food or Soft Drinks will be allowed in the Complexes (team water coolers ARE allowed in dugout). Please visit our concession stand – profits from concessions help pay for field improvements that make these facilities better places for you to play tournament softball. 21. OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT BALL: DECKER .47 COR / .375 Compression. All balls are provided throughout the tournament.
