NSA SLOW-PITCH RULE AND BY-LAW CHANGES
2008 NSA RULE CHANGES
Courtesy Runner Rule - Wrong player takes the base it is now an OUT and not an EJECTION.
2008 NEW BYLAWS that will affect teams. State champions from a State Tournament with 16+ teams can appeal to their state director.
Teams that are a mandatory move up from 2007 must play the following year 2008 in a qualifier, State and either the Super Regional or World Series to be eligible to appeal for re-classification the next year 2009. Failure to do all of the three validations will result in the team not being ineligible for appeal.
Super World Series additional players pick-ups must come from a current NSA roster of the same or lower class that has not WON or RECEIVED a berth to the Super World Series of the same or lower class.
Super World NIT berth's for Class C, D and E MUST VALIDATE BY PLAYING IN THE STATE PLUS either the Super Regional or World Series. Failure to validate will result in loss of the Super World Berth.
We can now pass the State Championships berth for the Super World until accepted in the Men's C, D and E Divisions.
We will now reward the HIGHEST POINTS LEADER at the deadline of September 1st, 2008 a SUPER WORLD SERIES BERTH. The highest point's leader on September 1st, 2008 (from the NSA National Point System) without already receiving a Super World Berth, in each State, in each Men's classification (B,C,D & E) will receive a berth to the Super World Series in their respective classification. To be eligible, the team must have played in a minimum of five (5) tournaments, one of which must be the State.
NSA will be offering B/C Super World NIT's. Berths will be awarded as follows; the highest finishing in each class B & C will receive a Super World Berth and the travel will be retained by the respective classifications. (One "B" berth and One "C" berth will be given, regardless of number of teams in tournament). Example on travel - 3 B teams and 8 C teams would be as follows - The B Berth and travel would be $150, The C Berth and travel would be $400. Both based on the number of teams in the B/C NIT from each classification.
