Illinois NSA Slow-Pitch Tournament Rules1. Managers are responsible for knowing the rules and making sure that their players know the rules! 2. Non-knowledge of the rules or approved equipment is not an excuse for not following them. 3. Managers and players are responsible for knowing their equipment is non-altered and NSA approved. NSA CLASS E WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP 1. GENERAL RULES: Tournament will be run in strict accordance with the 2011 NSA Rulebook 2. All managers and players must CHECK IN ONE HOUR before first game 3. ALL PLAYERS and MANAGERS must present PICTURE ID and SIGN ON-LINE ROSTER at check in. 4. NO ID - NO PLAY - NO EXCEPTIONS 5. No players can be added to the official on-line roster at the tournament. 6. All players must also carry id in their bat bags at all times! There will be ID-Roster checks! 7. UNIFORM RULE WILL BE IN EFFECT! Class B thru E Matching shirts with non-identical numbers In NIT and all other Post season play, if a team is not in compliance with the uniform rule, the opposing team, if in total uniform, has the choice of being the home or visiting team. If both teams are in compliance, or if both teams are not in compliance, then a flip of a coin will determine the home and visiting team. 8. APPROVED BAT LIST is posted by pairings board. PLAYERS AND MANAGERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CHECKING TO MAKE SURE THEIR BAT IS LEGAL! If the bat is NOT on the list then it is NOT approved! Only NSA approved bats will be allowed. Approved list can be viewed at www.illinoisnsa.com 9. All Team players must be AT THE FIELD READY TO PLAY 30 MINUTES before scheduled game time. 10. NO STEEL SPIKES ( Immediate Ejection) 11. ALL DECKER NSA 44 COR 400 COMPRESSION SOFTBALLS ARE PROVIDED BY TOURNAMENT 12. FORFEIT TIME: GAME TIME IS FORFEIT TIME ONLY after notification and approval by director. 13. DUGOUTS: Keep all players in dugouts except 2 base coaches and on deck hitter 14. OFFICIAL SCOREBOOK: Official scorebook is the home team’s book. Visitors should also keep a book. 15. STARTING COUNT: 1-1 Count (1 ball-1strike) No courtesy fouls 16. HOME RUN RULE: “E” – Out & progressive penalty from start. Do not need to touch the next base. 17. RUN RULE: 20 after 3 innings, 15 after 4 innings, 10 after 5 or 6 innings 18. COURTESY RUNNERS: A Courtesy Runner may be used once per inning. The Courtesy Runner can be any player on the team roster. If the courtesy runner comes to bat while on base, it is an out. 19. PROTESTS: $75 cash fee for rules, balls and per player eligibility. $200 cash for bats. 20. All protests must be written on a sheet of paper and given with protest fee to the home plate umpire 21. No judgment calls are protestable 22. INJURIES: If a player is injured by a hit ball severely enough that they have to leave the game, confiscate the ball and bat and give them to the tournament director. 23. SUSPENDED GAME: In case of rain, game will be picked up at the point it ended. Please mark home book and document on a sheet of paper what inning the game was in, the score, how many out, who was batting and what runners were on base. 24. RAIN DELAYS: All managers are personally responsible for checking the facility in person during rain delays 25. NO PROFANITY: Keep language to softball terms. 26. NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK IS PERMITTED. There will be concessions available for your needs. AN OUNCE OF PREVENTION CAN SAVE A POUND OF COMMOTION! |
